谈到在凯尔特人打球的感受，波尔津吉斯说道：“我确实非常喜欢在这里打球。不过，我也要说，我在奇才时也很开心。尽管我们当时没能赢很多比赛，但我真的很享受那段时光。我也总是很喜欢为拉脱维亚国家队效力。那是一种很不一样的感觉，因为你不是被强迫去那里，而是因为你真的想去——那是一种不同的氛围。”
接着波尔津吉斯说道：“我在西班牙也度过了一些不错的时光，当然，我在独行侠的时光更多像是在咬牙坚持，试图找回那种乐趣。但在尼克斯的时候，我总是很享受篮球。也许在独行侠有点失去了这种感觉，而在奇才没有人真正关注我，但我当时真的玩得很开心。”
“显然，现在大家能看到我脸上的笑容，我很开心，但我想说，这其实是我职业生涯大部分时间的状态。只是现在我站在一个更大的舞台上，大家能够看到我如何打球以及我如何享受比赛。”波尔津吉斯最后说道。
